Simon has 17 years of experience, including emergency management, municipal and emergency services, military logistics, and nonprofit management. He’s a mission-oriented professional who has spent his entire career helping public service organizations manage and protect their business.

As the founder of the Canadian Journal of Emergency Management (CJEM), Simon is steeped in emergency management doctrine and best practices. He’s extensively published on security and risk in several journals and is an accomplished public speaker and guest
lecturer at graduate and undergraduate levels. Simon has held key roles in federal and municipal emergency operations centres during humanitarian, public health, wildfire, flooding, and other public safety operations.

In addition to CJEM, Simon’s community service includes time on the Board of Directors for the Toronto Military Family Resource Centre and in the Order of St. George, which champions military families and cadets.
